REDHAT SHOOT PROPOSED

If you have shot at Friendship during the two big yearly shoots, you know what the problems are.  Between no water for the "Hooters" and $75.00 to camp, Politics, Flatlanders, and Line Shooters it makes for a very unrelaxing time.  Lizard and Fred Martin were talking (as usual) and came up with the idea of having a REDHAT FRIENDSHIP SHOOT.  The idea is to have just Redhats and Family show up on some week when the weather is cooler and there are no crowds to use up the water pressure.  Basically what we will have is the old fashioned Friendship before the Flea Market and the circus atmosphere happened.  We will shoot the entire Primitive Program exactly the way the Nationals are shot and will keep our own records.  Since we will be our own Range Officers we will be able to shoot the whole week long.  We will also be able to shoot the Silhouette Range without a 2 day waiting period.««We need every Redhats ideas and/or suggestions, to make this the best shooting rendezvous you've ever been to.

SOME QUESTIONS TO ANSWER««

1]  Do we invite non‑Redhats?

2]  Do we invite Traders?

3]  What dates are good for everyone?

4]  What would you consider a fair charge for the camping and shooting program combined?  We will have to pay to use the range and the targets, we would like to ¬buy some nice prizes.  Is $20 enough? Is $50 too much?

5]  Who will be willing to work to set up the ranges?

6]  Standard NMLRA rendezvous rules will apply, and we will all enforce the rules.  Or do we want to toughen some of the rules?

7]  Do we advertise in Muzzle Blasts?

Please send your ideas or comments to LIZARD, RR 5, BOX 354 DANVILLE,  IL  61832  Or call him at 217‑443‑4627.  Please send 3 stamps with your letter to help Lizard mail the newsletters to you as they come out.

PHONE HELP REQUESTED  We need a few people to help make phone calls.  Lizard had a $300 phone bill last month.  Now if you deduct the $125 in calls to Fred Martin, you still have a hefty phone bill.  If we could get some volunteers to make phone calls to Redhats who live close by, we could cut the phone calls down a lot.  That way Lizard makes 5 or 6 calls and then everybody gets called.

EASTERN PLANS

««As long as we were sending out this newsletter we decided to put some in some news about the 1991 Eastern.  It's beginning to look like we will have a good turnout.  We are planning on running a convoy from the Midwest to the Eastern.  That way we will all arrive at the same time and be able to camp together.

The plan now is to leave on Thursday, August 22, 1991 for the Eastern.  Those who want to ride or drive together call Lizard for the particulars.

THE MAINE BOYS ARE COMING«

Some of the Maine Redhats are coming to the Eastern.  They have the clothes and guns, but they don't have the camp gear to pass inspection at an Eastern.  Call Lizard if you can help put up one of the Potato Ranchers.

WATCH OUT FOR JO JO

JO JO showed up at Lizard's to try and get his Smoothbore to shoot.  It was spot on the first shot and all over the board after that.  Lizard slotted the barrel keys and now JO JO is shooting X's.  If you are having problems with your gun get it fixed or call Lizard and see if you can get a Lizard "Accurizing" Job.

LIZARD LOSING WEIGHT

Lizard has lost 5 pounds a week now for 4 weeks.  If he loses another 100 pounds, he will get down to being fat.  His new 52" waist pants now will fall right off of him if he doesn't have a belt holding it up.

LITTLE BIG MAN BEATEN

WITH OWN GUN

Little Big Man loaned his Smoothbore to Jerry Scales at a shoot recently.  LBM would shoot and then load for Jerry.  Jerry Scales hit one more target than LBM did.  Now that's friendship.¬
