FROM THE LIZARD

Well, I hear out there that some Widowmakers are complaining that they are not getting enough "Broken Arrows" during the year that they have paid $10.00 for.  Well, Fuck Them!  I should be asking each member for $25.00 a year just to be a member of this organization.  The $10.00 is not only for the Broken Arrow, but to put some cash away for insurance when we put on a club encampment, and also to buy some "chow" for the event.  We are an elite club, the last surviving traditional club that was started in the early 1970's.  If you will look around you will notice that the traditional clubs are a vanishing breed.  The Wolverines that we used to shoot against are gone as are most of the others.  It's everywhere you look, at Friendship, about all the rendezvous, magazines, etc. etc.

We are being replaced by trade fair people, reenactors, trekkers, and the modern muzzleloaders.  I was talking to an old timer, and bitching about how the traditional are rapidly becoming smaller and smaller groups.  He stated to me "Great!" When all the traditional clubs are gone, the people will stand around and say, yeah, but there's one club that's still doing it the right way, and carrying on what we started years ago, The Widowmakers! .

LIZARD FIRES THE WHOLE WEST

The Widowmakers out West are still wearing the "red hats,” so I wrote their so-called leader out there and said "your men wear either the Red Hats or the Widowmakers hat, but you can't wear both.  R.D. Wood told me that they are staying with the red hats and their the 5-pound skull and crossbones emblem on them.  I fired all of them.  They later told me that they are not Widowmakers and have no affiliations with the red hats back here.  So be it.

END OF THE RENDEZVOUS’?

Jon Ulithol (EVP of NMLRA) stated in a letter to all the directors, that the NMLRA Rendezvous are bringing down the NMLRA, and in two years should be looked at and vote on whether to bury them or not.  Jim Fulmer, Russ Giffening, and the Professor (Glen Dickey) are fighting these statements at the Board meeting in June at Friendship.  I'm working with them, and we have come up with new information I hope will stop all this B.S., but you never know.

IS BELGIUM CLOSE TO NEW ENGLAND?

Try and get to the North Eastern Rendezvous this year.  Hugo has called me and stated he's coming from Belgium, and some other skinners are coming from Germany to be at an NMLRA rendevous this year instead of coming to Friendship.  They "will" be at the Northeastern.

Well that it unless Redeye has something to add, and just one more thing, your 1997 dues are Due!

RED EYES CORNER

In case you were wondering who has all the club money that has been collected so far.  I have it.  It is in a safe place where Lizard can’t find it.

Send in your E-mail addresses to me if you have one.

manyklatch@compuserve.com.  It may save some time trying to get late breaking news out to all of you.

This whole primitives versus the main line shooters reminds me of Ben Franklin and his famous line.  “ If we don’t hang together gentlemen, we will all surely hang separately.”  Well here comes the end of the page again.  See you at Woodbury.  Red Eye
